How to Measure Yourself Properly
If possible, get a friend or family member to help you. Some measurements (such as arm length) are more
accurate when someone else takes them for you.  Also, don't forget to wear your undergarments (e.g., bra
or corset), hoopslip or bumroll and shoes.

Bust:  Fullest part around your chest, NOT your bra size.

Waist: The place where your torso bends as you reach to your side, usually a little above your navel.  This
is NOT the waist measure you see in commercial garments, it should be higher then your pants waistline (as
an example).

Shoulder to waist length:  Find the top of your shoulder, mid-way from your neck and arm.  Measure straight
down your back to your natural waist.

Shoulder to wrist length:  Measure from the top of your shoulder (where your sleeve normally fits into your
shirt) to your wrist.

Bicep and wrist circumference:  Measure largest circumference of the upper arm and smallest circumference
of the lower arm.

Shoulder to floor length:  Drop the measuring tape upside down from the top of your shoulder to where it
just touches the ground.  (Doing this upside down means you don't have to bend over to read the number!).
